No, we’re not doing “Urinetown”…

But we DO have an actual toilet on the set. Doesn’t that make you want to come see the show? Here, part of our AMAZING tech crew does some heavy-lifting…

Someone is a big “Brighton Beach” fan

For the record, SHE was the one who tried to put the t-shirt on.

We got light!

Tech week is always exciting because we get to see what the lighting crew has been hard at work on and also get to see the great things that costumes have come up with! There is still much to be done with sets and lights but we are on our way!!

“The Infamous Dinner”

Brighton Beach moves on to the set!

Thanks to our hard working and talented tech crew, the Brighton Beach Memoirs set is taking shape! There is a lot more to do, but we are on our way!! The actors got their first chance to try it out this week – more photos to come….

Brighton Beach Memoirs CALLBACKS

Brighton Beach Memoirs – Callback List

Thank you to everyone who auditioned. Everyone did a great job and we are excited to see more from the following people at callbacks. If you were not called back, this means that unfortunately you will not be cast.

CALLBACKS WILL TAKE PLACE THURSDAY AND FRIDAY AFTER SCHOOL – NOT ON WEDNESDAY. Use Wednesday to prepare!

We have developed a number system in order to make the callback process more efficient. Please take note of what number(s) are next to your name as well as the corresponding people for other roles. You will definitely be performing the scenes you are called back for with these people; if we want to see you again we may put you with another person. We suggest you take advantage of this and practice with your partner(s)!!!

(If we messed up with any of these numbers and you don’t have a partner or are doing a scene with yourself, please see Mr. Roth. This was his idea.)

Brighton Beach Memoirs Audition Information

Brighton Beach Memoirs-  Audition Info

Description: Brighton Beach Memoirs is part one of Neil Simon’s autobiographical trilogy: a portrait of the writer as a Brooklyn teenager in 1937 living with his family in crowded, lower middle class circumstances. Eugene the young Neil Simon is the narrator and central character. His mind is full of fiercely fantasized dreams of baseball and dimly fantasized images of girls. The play captures a few days in the life of a struggling Jewish household that includes Eugene’s hard working father, his sharp tongued mother, his older and vastly more experienced brother Stanley, his widowed aunt and her two young daughters. As Eugene’s father says, “If you didn’t have a problem, you wouldn’t live in this house.” Two have heart disease, one has asthma, and two at least temporarily lose jobs needed to keep the straitened family afloat. Family miseries are used to raise such enduring issues as sibling resentments, guilt ridden parent child relationships and the hunger for dignity in a poverty stricken world.

Auditions are:

December 13-Last name A-M
December 14- Last name N-Z
December 16 & 17 Callbacks
