West Side Story Callback List

WEST SIDE STORY

CALL BACKS

Thank you to everyone who came out and auditioned! You all did a terrific job!

We had a new Players record – 95 people auditioned! We wish we could cast everyone, but unfortunately we cannot. Below is the list of people that we would like to see again at callbacks on next Wednesday and Thursday.

If you are not called back, that does NOT mean that you are not cast. If you are called back, that does not necessarily mean that you ARE cast. After the character name below, you will find  callback song(s) and scene(s) listings for each character. Please prepare all scenes and songs for each character that you are called back for. This does not mean that you have to memorize each scene, but it is to your best advantage to be as familiar with each as possible. Because there are so many roles and so many scenes, we may not see every person read each scene. Please remember that there are descriptions of each characters available on the blog and the website. Use these descriptions when preparing for each role. The music for this show is very difficult and the only way that you are going to learn it is listening and reviewing it over and over again. We have faith that this is going to be a great show, but it is going to take a lot of work! Please only proceed with your audition if you are up for a challenge!! We look forward to seeing you next Wednesday and Thursday afternoon at callbacks.

The parent meeting, however, has been postponed to a later date TBD.  Watch your email for that info.

FOR STUDENTS:  There will be a meeting for everyone that is auditioning and it will take place from 2:00 to 2:30 PM

At 2:30: BOYS WILL DANCE AND GIRLS WILL SING (Sign-ups will be available when you arrive).

Thursday and Friday will proceed as previously scheduled – check the emails you received earlier and the Players Facebook page/group for students to see  more detailed info on auditions, including suggested/preferred dance audition attire.  Do the best you can given the circumstances and try not to be stressed about any of it.  This storm and delayed opening has presented many challenges, including our ability to communicate with all of you!

Students should be sure to request to be added/friended so they can receive all notices posted to the facebook page.

ON THIS FRIDAY:  AT 2:30 PM THERE WILL BE A GENERAL MEETING FOR ALL STUDENTS WHO PLAN TO BE INVOLVED IN PLAYERS, WHETHER ON STAGE, OFF STAGE, OR IN THE ORCHESTRA.  THIS MEETING WILL BE FOLLOWED BY CREW DAY!

If you are unable to get to the auditions tomorrow because you are stuck at your house because of storm damage- please let us know and we will figure something out for you.  THANK YOU!

Please let people know this information!  Text it to everyone you know is interested.
